Drop in the Trailmix.Net Old Sacramento Store (right across the street from the California Railroad Museum) between 1:00 and 3:00 and grab a seat. Seed containers will be available for children to decorate and personalize. Next comes the soil and a couple of seeds. When you are finished, you get to take home your creation along with a set of instructions on how to care for your flowers. Best of all, it’s free. Match this activity with our free Old Sacramento Scavenger Hunt and you have a recipe for a very inexpensive day of family fun in Old Sac.

This workshop is a great opportunity to begin a garden project of your own this summer. A simple flower garden can be an endless source of educational topics, fresh air, and sunshine for young people. When you are ready to move on to some more advanced topics, Green Acres has a whole series kids workshops planned at each of their locations (Green Acres events and activities are posted here).

I got the scoop from a highly placed source that there will be “…lots of cool things for kids (and adults) to do that day including free BBQ, live music, apple tasting, a pie walk, pumpkin decorating, pumpkin bowling, rubber ducky derby, winter veggie workshops, an art show and more…”

I’m looking forward to the workshops…. See you there.

Download your free copy today, and feel free to share it with friends. When you use it, please consider sending us an note. Whether you have text, photos, or just scratched a map on the back of a napkin at Denny’s, we don’t mind. It’s the adventure and results, not the format , that matter and we would love to hear about it.
