Join our Old Sacramento Postcard Club

by Mike Barlow on February 25, 2010

Looking for a fun way to teach your children about geography, history, and other cultures?  Have you considered joining a postcard exchange club?  The Trailmix.Net store is starting a postcard club for kids ages 2-12.  Using a service called Postcrossing.com, we will be sending postcards to random addresses worldwide.  As our post cards reach their destinations, this service will prompt other people around the world to send a postcard to us.

How To Participate:
If you have access to the Trailmix.Net Old Sacramento Store, check our calendar to find a scheduled postcard workshop.  At the postcard workshop we will spend time writing postcards and then learn a little about the postcard destinations.  Trailmix.Net will provide space, materials, pens, addresses, cards, and postage.

Kids Postcard Club in Old Sacramento

Each child that writes a postcard will earn a “claim ticket” that can be traded for postcards as they arrive.  Postcards will be distributed to claim-ticket holders on a first-come-first-serve basis.

This is a great way to start a postcard collection, meet other families, and dream about places far away!  If you decide to join us, please consider RSVPing to a workshop on our facebook fan page – it will help us make sure that we have enough materials on hand.
