Gold rush days rolled into full swing on Saturday.  If you visit with children, be sure to check out the gold rush economy.  Start out by mining gold in front of the Sacramento History Museum, cash in your gold at the bank, and use your bank certificates to purchase items from participating merchants (at Trailmix.Net were selling rocks – visit us right across the street from the California Train Museum).

As always, the Old Sacramento Scavenger Hunt is available and we just added some special passes from Granite Arch Climbing Center. 

Finally, while you are out and about, be sure to be alert for gold rush era drama to break out.  Seen in the area – land disputes, bank robberies, gun fights, cavalry charges, cannon blasts, axe throwing, and much more.
