Trailmix.Net Announces Appointment of Trailmix the Bear to Senior Vice President, Global Head, Door Greeting and Expedition Blogging

Sacramento, Calif. –  August 28, 2009 –  Trailmix.Net, Inc. today announced the appointment of Trailmix the Bear to senior vice president, global head, door greeting and expedition blogging.

Beginning in September 2009, Trailmix the Bear will report to Sara Barlow, CFO and head of expedition photography.  In his new role, Trailmix will be responsible for greeting guests as they enter the Trailmix.Net store in Old Sacramento and updating the Trailmix.Net blog with photos and articles about educational expedition opportunities in California.

Trailmix the Bear is an internationally recognized door greeter who has made significant contributions to the classification, understanding and eating of mixed nut snacks for hikers. He is a tenured Professor of Trail Development at El Dorado University for Bears and joins Trailmix.Net, Inc. after a summer internship of door greeting at the Pistante’s Coyote Den Inn in South lake Tahoe.

In addition to his contributions in South Lake Tahoe, Trailmix the Bear has also held many significant roles within the bear community, most notably as President of the American Society of Forest Critters in 2005-2006 and as the Chair of the Sierra Committee of Bears. At SCOB, Trailmix the Bear and his colleagues designed numerous trails and routes through the North, Central, and Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Trailmix the Bear has authored or co-authored more than 250 peer-reviewed journal articles, guide book chapters, magazine articles, reviews and editorials, and has served on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed hiking guide books.
