If you are in or near Sacramento on Labor Day, here’s an educational expedition that you don’t want to miss. On September 4th – 7th more than 200 tons of dirt will be dumped on the streets of Old Sacramento to “turn back the clock” and transform the historical district into a wild west town with costume re-enactors, gun fights, musicians, historical lectures, and more.
During Gold Rush Days the Trailmix.Net Store will be sharing our little corner of Old Sacramento with the California [Tag]State Railroad Museum[/Tag] Gold Rush Lecture Series, the Cultural Music and Entertainment Stage, and of course the Embarcadero Tent City located in the grassy area next to us known as the 1849 scene.
We will also be participating in the Gold Rush Economy. This program teaches children the value of gold and money during the Gold Rush by allowing them to exchange gold nuggets that they find at the mining station for special certificates. You can redeem your certificates at the Trailmix.Net Old Sacramento Store for a free prize. And as always, the Old Sacramento Scavenger Hunt will be in full swing.
Admission to [Tag]Gold Rush Days[/Tag] in [Tag]Old Sacramento[/Tag] is free and event hours are as follows:
- Friday, September 4, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Saturday, September 5, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, September 6, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
